Sinus Surgery

March 19th, 2008 by Janene

I’ve been wanting to post for a while but I have been very busy. Working two jobs sometimes requires that I work 6 days a week. Yuck! Anyway.

Last week at a visit with my Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor I found out that I need to have another sinus surgery. I have a long history of chronic sinusitis and nonallergic rhinitis and have been seeing an ENT since I was 10 or 12 years old. My last sinus surgery was 6 years ago and I haven’t had to see him since. I really thought he had cured me but apparently working with 2-year-olds has caused more sinus problems for me. I guess constantly being sick is not good for my nose.

Anyway. A CT scan showed I have polyps and really small airways in my nasal passages. I am scheduleded to have surgery the second week in April. The doctor anticipates I will be able to work after 2 days of recovery and I sure hope he’s right. I have too many kids I need to see for work but I am not going to push myself. I would much rather take it slow than go too fast and pay for it later.

That is so sad! I am sorry. I haven’t ever had surgery (unless you count oral, which I don’t).

Yikes, that stinks!!! I have sinus problems too and I have just foudn the netti pot and I am in love with it. Have you ever tried it??? If you have I am curious to hear about your experience with it. If you have no idea what a netti pot is google it, it is crazy. You basically flush your brains out with it!
