A couple weeks later I got a postcard with all the details and made sure my schedule was free so I could go. The book they had chosen was “For Women Only – what you need to know about the inner lives of men”. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I am so glad I decided to make an effort to go every week. It was truly an amazing study. I learned so much about what Joey needs and gained insight on how to make our marriage stronger. Now I just have to work on applying everything I learned (with God’s help of course).

If you are a married woman, please consider reading this book or completing the Bible study that goes along with it. You will be glad you did. (If you are a married man don’t fret, there is a “For Men Only” book available and I bet it would be just as good. Joey, I hope you’re reading this. Just kidding.)

Another reason I am glad I started going to a Bible study again was the time we spent in prayer. We shared prayer requests every week and prayed together as a group. I also made sure to pray for everyone throughout the week. It’s nice to have a group of people you know pray for you and what a great privilege it is to pray for them.

We became very close by the end of the study so we decided to do another study. The leaders of our group picked another great study. It is called “Apples of Gold – A Six-Week Nurturing Program for Women”. Tomorrow is only our second week but so far I am really enjoying the study. The study is based on the principles taught in Titus 2:3-5:

3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

The leaders of our group invited five other women from our church (each one married more than 25 years) to join our study. Each week we meet at a different person’s home and have a short cooking lesson, eat dinner together and then have our Bible study. I am really looking forward to what God is going to teach me/us through this Bible study.
