Love Meme

February 1st, 2008 by Janene

The other day Jessie tagged me to write about three things I love besides my husband, children or soda. Since I don’t have children and don’t like soda this shouldn’t be too hard. Right?

Wrong. While I was thinking about what I should write I came up with a long list of things I hate. I’m not sure what that means but I did come up with three things to write about. So here ya go:

  • I love shopping. When I am in the mood to shop, I can spend money like crazy. I am also good at helping other people spend their money. My sister hates it when I go shopping with her – but she usually leaves the store with some cute stuff. I don’t want you to think I am frivolous with my money because I am not. I have usually planned what I am going to buy and how much I am going to spend. I like to get a good deal for things. I tend to gravitate toward signs that read “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” or “50% Off”. My husband hates it when I tell him “I saved $50″. I have often wondered what it would be like to be a mystery shopper. Doesn’t that sound like fun? (As long as it’s not fraudulent.)
  • I love mentoring. My sophomore and junior year in college I was a mentor for a freshman program and loved it. I enjoyed helping the students with their assignments and all the little things that happen your first year of college. I enjoy sharing with people what I’ve learned about something or helping them through something I’ve gone through. I wonder if it has something to do with me being the oldest child?
  • I recently discovered a love for painting and redecorating. I completely redid a room (carpet, paint and furniture) at my parent’s house and had a lot of fun doing it. I look forward to having a house I can decorate and try different themes. This might become an expensive habit!

I tag Cindy, Merissa, and anybody else who wants to participate in this meme.

Middle Name Meme

August 30th, 2007 by Janene

The rules for this meme are: you must list one fact that is relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name.

So here’s mine: MARIA

Miracle worker – or at least I try to be. I spend most of my day trying to get 2 year olds to talk!

Adjusting to my new job(s).

Richer than I was 2 months ago – working full-time has its perks.

Incredible chef – or at least I wish I was.

Always busy doing something (just ask my husband).

Everyone should try this meme! If you don’t have a middle name, make one up or just use your first name.

Happy blogging everyone!

Meme

July 21st, 2007 by Janene

I enjoy reading several different blogs and lately I have seen a couple of posts titled “Meme“. In these posts they answer a bunch of random questions and I thought it was kind of fun so here is my first meme.

Never in my life have I: been skiing and I live in Utah! Crazy I know but I plan on going eventually.

High School was: when I totaled the first car my parents bought me.

When I’m nervous: I talk too fast and don’t have very good eye contact.

My hair: is to my shoulders – the longest I’ve had it in almost 10 years. I am still deciding if I want to continue to grow it out.

When I turn my head to the left: I get a sharp pain in the right side of my neck. (I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and it’s been acting up lately. I think it’s time to see a Physical Therapist again.)

I should be: exercising every day but who has the time? (Besides my husband who bikes to work).

By this time next year: I should be certified as a Speech-Language Pathologist and hopefully feel more confident in what I am doing.

I have a hard time understanding: why people don’t meet my high expectations.

My ideal breakfast is: a bacon, egg and cheese croissant…so yummy but fattening. That is why I usually have yogurt and a granola bar.

If you visit my hometown: you will see LDS church buildings on every street (almost).

If you spend the night at my house: you’ll probably have to sleep on the couch and listen to my husband’s bird chirp.

I shouldn’t have been: so rude to my grandmother when I was younger.

Last night: I spent time visiting my sister-in-law and playing with my nieces who are in town for the weekend.

If I could have any car, it would be: paid for, low miles and nice looking.

I hope you have enjoyed these random facts about me. If you have your own blog, consider doing this meme too.
